The following activities can be easily implemented and can be easily differentiated to provide a wide range of activities.

  1. Identify the different number
  2. patterns created throughout the grid
  3. For a quick addition game. Select 4 numbers i.e. 1,2,11,12 add each number to every other number--timeless but effective
  4. Add the corner numbers. Increase the size of the square and add these numbers.
  5. What do you notice ?

  1. A useful investigation. Add 2 number partners (9-6,4-5). Calculate the   largest number you can make and the smallest
  2. Try it now with a different part of the 100 square. What do you notice.
  3. Repeat again. (Patterns are forming !
  4. Repeat with a 4 by 4, 5 by 5 square
  5. Repeat with multiplication (An       interesting task for all abilities.
  6. Easily differentiated !!
